Kelly Slater's Slater Designs set out to prove that grip and sustainability can share a board. The Arch is a three-piece tail pad moulded from BLOOM algae foam, a high-performance material made from algae biomass pulled from freshwater sources, so the traction under your back foot helps clean the water it came from.
On the board the Arch feels planted without being harsh. The diamond pegs bite with or without wax, the centre arch gives you a constant reference for your back foot, and the channelled kick drives your turns instead of just stopping your foot. It is a genuine performance pad that happens to be made the right way.
