In the skate industry, a new division was created in 2012 with the announcement of partnership between New Balance and Black Box Distribution. It was in 2013 when New Balance Numeric (NB#) was launched, cementing the partnership with Black Box which is founded and run by pro skateboarder Jamie Thomas.
New Balance Numeric is run by brand manager Sebastian Palmer who formerly worked with another leading skate shoe brand eS. Mike West of 686 (snowboarding brand) and Westlife Distribution is the brand's creative director. Like many skate companies, it's not surprising that NB# has managers and staff who are skaters or used to be skaters in their youth.
